EI : The voice of educators worldwide
Education International is the Global Union Federation representing teachers and education workers from pre-school to post-graduate levels around the world. EI’s 394 affiliated organizations are active in 171 countries and territories, and their combined membership is about 30 million educators.
EI speaks out loudly and clearly for teacher trade unions on the global stage. Our message is to emphasize the central role of educators in promoting Education For All and providing free quality public education to each child. EI highlights the intrinsic value of teachers’ work and advocates for increased recognition of all education personnel, as caring professionals who are committed to providing high quality education at all levels.

5th World Congress
Half way to the target date of 2015 for the Millennium Development Goals and Education for All, EI renewed its commitment to quality education and social justice at its 5th World Congress, held in Berlin. Delegates at the biggest and most successful Congress ever voted to deepen and broaden EI’s scope of action around the world.
