Project Summary:
Immediate objectives:
- To increase membership of UNATU to 50.000 by the end of 2006
- UNATU to be recognized as a legitimate and competent union in Uganda
- To increase range of services provided to members
Activities:
- 10.000 copies of brochures printed and distributed.
- Regular visits to districts by Task Force and national office
- 400 Leadership handbooks produced, printed and distributed
- Needs assessments report produced
- 23 NEC (National Executive Committee) members and staff trained in union matters and recruitment strategies
- 23 NEC members and staff trained in financial management
- To sensitise 56 Branch chairs, 7 NEC members and 2 staff members on union matters and the UNATU recruitment campaign
- 250 National and Branch leaders trained in grievance handling and leadership skills
- 60 female UNATU leaders trained in gender issues
- To produce, print and distribute brochure on grievance handling together with UNATU newsletter
