Project Summary:
Aims:
• Strengthen the capacity of the union
• Defend the right for education and the rights of teachers at both, national and regional levels.
Expected results:
Analyse relevant issues concerning trade unions such as the recent regional free trade agreements and their impact on the production and service sector with special emphasis on education.
Methodology:
This long-term project consists of two phases of three years each. The methodology is based on sub regional workshops in the three regions Latin America is divided into: South Cone (Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay), the Andes (Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela) and Central America (Mexico, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and Curacao). Each workshop discusses unions’ independence, capacity building, gender and equality, minorities, and human and trade union rights.
