Project Summary:
Principal Aims:
1. Establish a strong network of women in the South Asian sub region for:
a. Promotion of the status of women in education and teachers unions.
b. Establish communication structures such as women’s committees, women’s wings for women.
c. Get constitutional provisions to promote women’s positions in the decision making bodies through affirmative action such as reservation, quota, etc.
d. Promote EFA and education of the girl child.
Expected Results:
Establishment of communication structures of women i.e. women’s networks at all levels.
Methodology:
Through women’s conferences, awareness seminars and workshops on unionism and leadership skills trainings, planning and evaluation meetings, publications of the training manual and study materials on women’s issues, publication and exchanges of the newsletters.
