Project Summary:

Aims:
• Promote the status of women in education and teachers unions
• Establish communication structures such as women’s committees, women’s wings for women
• Get constitutional provisions to promote women’s positions in the decision making bodies through affirmative action such as reservation, quota, etc.
• Promote EFA and education of the girl child.

Expected Results:
• Get 40% women in the decision making bodies
• Recruit women on par with their ratio in the teaching profession at various levels.

Working method:
Through women’s conferences, awareness seminars and workshops on unionism and leadership skills trainings, planning and evaluation meetings, publications of the training manual and study materials on women’s issues, publication and exchanges of the newsletters.

Participants:
Male and female leaders and members.

No. of recipients reached by the project:
More than 600 male and female members and leaders.
