Project Summary:
Principal Aims:
- Contribute to ZNUT’s development as an independent and democratic trade union for teachers and a strong and reliable actor in the society
- Stimulate cooperation between unions in the south (ZNUT and SADTU)
- Improve ICT systems and increase ICT skills in ZNUT
- Strengthen ZNUT internal democracy through increased representation of women
- Increase knowledge and skills on labour laws and regulations among elected representatives in ZNUT
Expected Results:
- Improved internal communication in ZNUT and improved ability to have social dialog with governing bodies at regional level
- Improved access to membership data
- Increased representation of women at all levels of the organisation
- Elected representatives are able to engage competently in conflict resolution at the workplace and ZNUT has developed a functional code of conduct
Methodology:
- Training of members and elected representatives
- Basic ICT-training of personnel at the regional offices and at national level in cooperation with SADTU.
- Discussions and exchange of experience and information on educational policy, central level in cooperation with SADTU and UEN
- Exchange of experiences and materials with SADTU
