Project Summary:
St. Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers’ Union has participated in the EFAIDS Programme since 2006.
Activities in 2008
SVGTU carried out training workshops.
Master trainers carried out a workshop for 27 teachers and also including young people from the Youth Empowerment Service of the Youth Affairs Department. The training sessions were based around 'Inclusion is the Answer' and 'Building a Gender Friendly School Environment'.
A larger training on Union Island was attended by teachers and members of the wider community and aimed to overcome discrimination relating to HIV and AIDS.
A further workshop in Questelles provided 22 teachers with the skills needed to share knowledge on HIV and AIDS with colleagues and students.
