Project Summary:
Aims:
• Professional Development
• HIV/AIDS awareness
• Gender Equality
• Increased qualifications for Amerindian teachers, recognized by the Ministry of Education
Expected Results:
• New teachers and union representatives will participate in professional development
• Improved teaching and learning in Amerindian regions
• Participants’ knowledge of and ability to offer instruction on HIV/AIDS and Gender issues improved
• Improved professionalism
• Increased loyalty to GTU
Working Methods:
In-service workshops for approximately 160 teachers each year in 2 remote regions with Canadian and local co-tutors
Number of Participants in this country: Approx. 800 teachers over 5 years
Target group: Members of GTU Gender Perspective: Integrated
