Project Summary:
Aims:
• Support AIACHE in its efforts to provide basic education and job skills to deprived group of young women in India
• Increase the self-esteem and the self-reliance of 16-25 year old young women who are school drop-outs and equip them with income-generating skills
• Improve the quality of life of the program students, their family and their community
• Reduce violence against women in deprived areas in Delhi
• Enhance the image and visibility of AIACHE
Expected Results:
• 200 young women increase their revenue, and their families and especially children benefit from having literate mothers, who are better role models for them
• 200 young women develop self-esteem, self-reliance and income-generating skills
• Positive impact on society
Working Methods:
• National and State-level planning meetings
• With the assistance of Canadian Inter-Action resource persons, development of a cadre of resource persons who are responsible to provide professional development training at the district level
• Resource Centre program
• Development of resource material
• District Level Training Seminars
• Regular evaluation meetings
Number of Participants in this country: Approximately 200 per year
Target group: 200 young women without primary schooling
