Project Summary:

Aims of the project:
All children of school-age in Gushegu and Karaga districts (Northern Ghana) have achieved their right to quality education provided by well-trained and committed teachers in a well-functioning community supported school system.

Expected Results:
1) 56 project established schools are absorbed into the formal system (GES), and ACE teaching methodologies are adopted by all designated supervising schools.
2) District Assemblies (municipalities) capacity to develop - in cooperation with GES - and implement plans, and to dialogue with civil society is strengthened.
3) Awareness of the right to quality education to out-of-reach children has increased at local, regional and national level.

Target group: 7,600 children, 200 community teachers, 800 PTA members
