:: Introduction ::
Education International supported the United Nations' initiative of launching the "Decade of Disabled Persons" from 1983 to 1992. EI also supports the Resolution 48/96 on the "Standard Rules on the Equalisation of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities" adopted by the UN General Assembly as an international instrument that relates to the rights of differently-abled persons.
