Since July 2008, Mireille de Koning has been working as a professional assistant within the Research Unit at Education International.
Mireille holds a Master of Science in International Development Studies from the University of Amsterdam, and a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. She speaks Dutch, English and German, and is currently learning French.
During her studies, Mireille specialised in education in multicultural societies, and carried out field research on teachers' perspectives on, and involvement in, inclusive education programmes for Roma children in Romania.
Before joining EI, Mireille worked as a researcher for the Development Agency Cordaid, for which she coordinated a global research project on sustainable livelihoods of returning rejected asylum seekers and undertook field research in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
