Samuel NGOUA NGOU (Coordinator - Africa Region)

Samuel NGOUA NGOU

Samuel Ngoua Ngou is currently Regional Coordinator at the EI Africa Regional Office.

Samuel graduated from the National Insitute of Management (Institut National des Sciences de Gestion) at the University of Libreville with a diploma in Accounting. He also holds two teaching certifcates in Management, one for junior secondary education and the other for senior secondary education, from Antony, France.

Samuel taught management and economy from 1988 to 1992 at the Technical Secondary School of Libreville (Lycée Technique de Libreville), where he held the elected position of Head of Department twice until June 1992. From October 1989 to July 1992, Samuel also taught Advanced Accounting at the National Insitute of Management (Institut National des Sciences de Gestion) at the University of Libreville, but he was forced to stop because of his involvement in union activism.

Samuel was active in the creation of the Syndicat de l'Education Nationale (SENA) in the early nineties. At that time, public servants were not allowed to form unions. From 1990 to 1993, he was the spokesperson of SENA and became its General Secretary from january 1993 to december 1995.

In january 1993, Samuel was elected member of the Economic and Social Council representing the civil society, where he held the position of the Rapporteur of the Economy, Finances and Budget section. He remained in this position until February 1997.

In October 1995, Samuel joined EI as a regional co-ordinator.

Samuel is married with three children. He is also a evangelical christian who manages a pastoral ministry in a local church in Djidjolé, Lomé in Togo .
