RESOLUTION ON COLLECTIVE BARGAINING
The Fourth World Congress of Education International, meeting in Porto Alegre (Brazil)
from 22 to 26 July 2004:
- Given that many EI members are attempting to establish and promote collective bargaining.
- Given that in addressing issues related to teacher supply and demand, and the status of
teachers, the availability of comparative research in areas specific to collective bargaining will be
invaluable.
- It is recommended that Education International establish a mechanism and parameters for
comparative research in collective bargaining, through which EI members can contribute data for
subsequent compilation, assimilation and distribution.
