published 15 December 2005 updated 6 June 2018

NASUWT, a British EI affiliate, is hosting their Disabled Members’ Consultation Conference this weekend.

Teaching delegates from across the country have already signed up for the Conference, which takes place at the Union’s Headquarters in Rednal, Birmingham. The Conference will examine the legal rights and occupational hazards of disabled teachers as well as championing their work. The Conference will be opened by the Union’s Deputy General Secretary, Jerry Bartlett, before being addressed by Dave Parr from Amicus and Mike Johnson from the TUC Disability Committee. Chris Keates , NASUWT’s General Secretary, said: “The programme for the Conference is highly topical and informative but for NASUWT the most important aspect is listening to the contributions of the members who attend. Their views and experiences are crucial to ensuring that the Union continues to develop focused and practical policies and advice.” Further information is available from the NASUWT website: www.teachersunion.org.uk
