    The Tsunami Student Tour has been a life-changing experience for the participants of the EI Tsunami Student Tour to Aceh, Indonesia, from 19-24 February 2007. Below is a summary of the feedback they gave EI after returning from the tour.

    EI organises tour of tsunami-hit areas for students

    EI has organised a tour for twelve students from Japan, Australia, the UK and the Netherlands to the tsunami-hit areas of Aceh in Indonesia from 19-24 February. The students were selected from schools which contributed to the EI Solidarity Fund for the Tsunami Rehabilitation Programme.

    8 Newly-constructed schools in tsunami-hit areas and still more to come

    By the end of September this year, teachers and children in the tsunami-hit areas of Indonesia in the Aceh province have access to 8 brand new fully-furnished and well-equipped elementary schools built under the EI-Novib Tsunami Rehabilitation Programme. And there will be 20 more to come.

    Relief for victims of the South Asia Earthquake of 2005

    The South Asia Earthquake struck the Pakistan-administered and parts of the India-administered region of Kashmir on 8 October 2005. It registered a magnitude of 7.6 and caused widespread devastation. Almost 90,000 people died and more than 4 million were directly affected.
