Farzad Kamangar still at risk in the Evin Prison

published 22 December 2008 updated 22 December 2008

EI has been informed that on December 18, Farzad Kamangar complained of severe pain and low blood pressure due to a chin inflammation, and he was again denied access to medical treatment.

Kamangar is still being kept in the notorious Evin Prison, ward 209 with other 7 prisoners in a 6 square meter cell. Regular visits by his family in the presence of one of his interrogators are his only comfort.

The 33-year old teacher has been sentenced to death on July 11 after an unfair and quick trial. Amnesty International has decided to raise his case in the international community: http://www.amnesty.org.uk
