Coming Up: ETUCE Conference on teacher union actions on gender equality in times of austerity
The closing conference of the ETUCE project Promoting gender equality within teacher trade unions and in the teaching profession II – Implementing and reinforcing teacher trade union actions on gender equality in times of austerity convenes in Sofia on 25 and 26 September 2014.
Prior to the conference, ETUCE organised last seminar in Utrecht and also an online survey was launched among the ETUCE member organisations. This survey analysed the actual impact of the crisis on gender equality in the education sector and within national teacher unions’ structures. The aims of the next conference are to try to find out what teacher unions can do to promote gender equality in times of economic crisis and budget cuts in education. The group will discuss and amend practical guidelines to promote gender equality in the education sector and within teacher union structures.
