International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women | Mobilising and organising for a world that is safe and affirming for all

published 24 November 2021 updated 13 December 2021

November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, kicks off the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence around the world. To mark this important day, David Edwards, Education International General Secretary, launched a call for collective and sustained action across our societies to make the world safe and affirming for all.

The statement stresses the work and commitment of education unions everywhere to eradicate gender-based violence around schools and other educational settings, and to support the International Labour Organization Convention 190 for a world of work free from violence and harassment.
