A Year of Global Action: Unite for Quality Education
One Year of Global Action - From World Teachers Day on October 5, 2013 to World Teachers Day 2014 A simultaneous launch will take place on 4 October, 2013, in New York City - in conjunction with the UN Secretary General, the UN Special Envoy and the DG of UNESCO at the Global Teachers’ Forum - and it will be linked with World Teachers' Day activities in Paris simultaneously.
The following three tasks will be announced as the primary goals for EI's participation in the Mobilising for Quality Education Campaign:
To create Awareness among governments, intergovernmental agencies and society generally that quality public education provision for all is one of the fundamental pillars of a just and equitable society.
To demonstrate that privatization undermines public education and is detrimental to the interests of society.
To ensure that the free, universal quality EFA Goal is a central part of any global post-2015 Development Strategy, with EI, and teachers at the forefront of those leading the implementation of the strategy.
