Julie Ferguson

Julie has been teaching for 15 years, mostly on the islands of Scotland. She was born deaf then was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa at the age of 21. Now 42, Julie is registered blind and is severely/profoundly deaf. She loves teaching and enjoys being paid to be a science nerd. In her free time, she reads, embroiders, and plays the piano. She also shouts loudly about disability for her union, the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS).
