ETUCE Special Meeting “What is needed to improve the Quality of Education in Europe?”

ETUCE will hold a Special meeting on “What is needed to improve the Quality of Education in Europe?” in Brussels on 23 October 2013 where experts on quality education will share their knowledge and a forum will provide ample opportunity to discuss measures, strategies and tools that are needed to improve the quality of education in Europe.

This special meeting is organised in the framework of the EI/ETUCE initiative Unite for Education and shortly after the official launch events which, have been recently announced to take place on 4 October 2013. The ETUCE Special meeting ties in with the decision to mobilize with  a view to promote our vision of quality education and to support high quality education for all as one of the fundamental pillars of a just and equitable society. Experts on quality education will share their knowledge with you, and a forum will provide ample opportunity to discuss measures, strategies and tools that are needed to improve the quality of education in Europe. Based on the participants’ input, a 10 point declaration will be issued to the ETUCE Committee.

Our initiative aims at raising public awareness that access to quality public education is fundamental for every citizen. Therefore the invitation to this meeting will be extended to partner organisations throughout Europe with a view to enhance the scope and the impact of our message.

The European Commissioner for Education and Culture, Androulla Vassilliou has already confirmed her attendance.
