50th Anniversary ILO/UNESCO Recommendation on the Status of Teachers
EI, the Global Teacher Prize, and the Brookings Institution are planning an event on 20 September in New York, USA, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the ILO/UNESCO Recommendation on the Status of Teachers. The event will take place during the General Assembly of the United Nations, and is planned to include a seminar/workshop, and a dinner and concert with musicians paying tribute to (their) teachers. The ILO and UNESCO Directors General are invited to be the guests of honour at the event. Participants will include member organisations, EI Executive Board members, and classroom teachers including the finalists for the Global Teacher Prize. More information about the event will be circulated in June.
