Latin American Pedagogical Movement’s meeting in Guatemala

On 20 June, Fatima Silva, Vice-President of the EI Latin America Committee, Combertty Rodriguez and Gabriela Sancho attended a national meeting of the Latin American Pedagogical Movement hosted by the Sindicato de Trabajadores de la Educación de Guatemala in Guatemala. They also met with the country’s Education Minister, Dr. Oscar Hugo López, in preparation for the November meeting on indigenous people’s public education. On 21 June, they participated in a national meeting of the women's network.

Latin American Pedagogical Movement’s meeting in El Salvador

From 22-23 June, the aforementioned then travelled to El Salvador for a national meeting of the Latin American Pedagogical Movement organised by the Asociación Nacional de Educadores Salvadoreños 21 DE JUNIO.

Meeting on union strengthening processes in Nicaragua

On 2 July, Combertty Rodriguez, Gabriel Castro, and Yaw Frinpong from Utdanningsforbunde t/Norway attended a meeting on union strengthening processes with the Confederación General de Trabajadores de la Educación de Nicaragua-ANDEN in Nicaragua.

Meeting on union strengthening processes in Peru

From 4-5 July, they visited Peru for a meeting on union strengthening processes with the Sindicato Unitario de Trabajadores en la Educación del Peru.

Latin American Pedagogical Movement’s meeting in Paraguay

On 13-15 July, Combertty Rodriguez met with affiliates in Paraguay - the Unión Nacional de Educadores-Sindicato Nacional and the Organización de Trabajadores de la Educación del Paraguay- to discuss ways of stepping up the promotion of the Latin American Pedagogical Movement.

Forum on TiSA and public education in Costa Rica

On 23 July, Combertty Rodriguez and Gabriel Castro took part in a Forum organised by the Asociación Nacional de Educadores about the threat the Trade in Services Agreement (TiSA) represents for Costa Rica’s public education.
