Resolution on Collective Bargaining

published 23 July 2004 updated 31 March 2017

The Fourth World Congress of Education International, meeting in Porto Alegre (Brazil) from 22 to 26 July 2004:

1. Given that many EI members are attempting to establish and promote collective bargaining.

2. Given that in addressing issues related to teacher supply and demand, and the status of teachers, the availability of comparative research in areas specific to collective bargaining will be invaluable.

3. It is recommended that Education International establish a mechanism and parameters for comparative research in collective bargaining, through which EI members can contribute data for subsequent compilation, assimilation and distribution.
