Description
The AFT and the TUESWU are working together on a trade union capacity building project to address the needs of the TUESWUs education workforace impacted by the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russia. The content of the project addresses the well-being of the workforce that has been subject to trauma and hardship following the unjust invasion of Ukraine by Russia. The focus of this program is to help members who have been displaced from their homes by the war.
Objectives
Allow Ukranian educators a greater understanding of the impact of the war on their own trauma, affording them the ability to educate more effectively under traumatic circumstances. As a source of professional development, these trainings also give Ukrainian educators a greater ability to enact change in their workplace.
Activities
Online training sessions for TUESWU members from across Ukraine, training them on trauma-informed education.
Outcomes
Cascaded trainings that disseminate the knowledge across Ukrainian schools, giving teacher leaders the ability to educate their peers on the trauma they are facing.
