Global education leaders discuss future of education and quality teachers

EI representatives have been interviewed on radio recently, informing and raising awareness among the general public about the impact of the economic crisis on education and on educators’ training and professional development.

Following the second international Summit on the Teaching Profession held in New York, US., the federal President of the Australian Education Union, Angelo Gavrielatos, the Executive Board member of the Union of Education Norway and EI Vice-President Haldis Holst, the President of the Canadian Teachers’ Federation, Paul Taillefer, EI General Secretary Fred van Leeuwen, and the President of the National Education Association and EI Vice-President Dennis Van Roekel, discussed education around the world on Bloomberg Radio's “Bloomberg EDU” on 23 March.

On RadioLabour's newscast of 3 April, van Leeuwen also delivered a message about quality education and the G8-G20 meetings to be held in Mexico in June.
