published 12 September 2014 updated 12 September 2014

Hundreds of educators, students and unionists are expected to fill the shore line of Sydney Harbour tomorrow as quality education is celebrated to mark the beginning of the end of the Unite Campaign.

The Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge will provide the perfect backdrop for Australian teachers as they pack into a picturesque city park Saturday, 13 September to launch Education International’s (EI) Unite for Quality Education culmination tour.

Members of EI’s affiliate, the Australian Education Union (AEU) will show their support for the year-long campaign while throwing the spotlight on their own education campaign, I give a Gonski.

Susan Hopgood, President of EI, will receive a rousing Aussie send-off as she departs her home country on a global voyage that will see her make stops in New Delhi, India, Brussels, Belgium, and finally New York City. Once in the Big Apple, Susan, along with EI General Secretary Fred van Leeuwen and a team of EI staff will take the message of quality education to top officials at the United Nations 69th General Assembly.
