Rikke Kristiansen

Rikke Kristiansen is the climate and education specialist at GPE where she supports global and country-level efforts to integrate climate resilience into education systems.

She works across the Climate Smart Education Systems Initiative (CSESI) and the Building Resilience in Children and Communities through the Education Sector (BRACE) initiative, helping partner countries to strengthen climate-responsive policies, plans and investments.

Her work includes coordinating multistakeholder partnerships, supporting country workplans, mobilizing climate finance for education and promoting evidence generation and knowledge sharing across the GPE Secretariat.

Rikke holds a BEng in civil engineering from Aarhus University and an MSc in engineering in sustainable urban development from Aalborg University, specializing in climate adaptation and mitigation in low-income countries.

She is a seasoned professional in climate adaptation, disaster risk management and resilience programming with experience gained through her work in South Sudan, Sierra Leone, Rwanda and other climate-vulnerable contexts.
