Description
In Nigeria, the rapid growth of private education providers has led to a proliferation of schools, creating inequality and threatening every child’s right to quality education. Low-fee private schools, such as Bridge International Academies, target low-income families under the guise of affordability, turning education into a commodity. This trend stems from government failure to ensure free quality education and regulate private actors. EI launched the Global Response project in 2017 with NUT Nigeria to combat privatization and advocate for inclusive public education. The 2024–2026 cycle supported by FES builds on these foundations and on the activities carried out in 2021-2023, and focuses on protecting vulnerable children, including girls and those with disabilities.
