published 14 April 2016 updated 19 April 2016

With Director Martin Romer retiring as European Director at the end of the year, EI and the ETUCE are seeking the right candidate to lead the European Trade Union Committee for Education into the future.

The beginning of 2017 will witness a passing of the torch as Romer, the Director of the European Trade Union Committee for Education (ETUCE), Education International (EI)’s European Region, heads into retirement. This leaves EI in search of his replacement.

The post is the equivalent of a Chief Regional Coordinator on the EI staff, with responsibility for the European Region, known as the ETUCE.  The process of appointment provides that a candidate is selected from applicants by the ETUCE Committee which then recommends that candidate for appointment to the EI General Secretary.

Further details of the post and of the selection process can be found here. Applications are invited from qualified applicants by the 20th May, 2016. Interviews with short-listed applicants are going to be conducted by the officers of ETUCE in June and a nomination made to the next ETUCE Committee meeting, which takes place in early October.

This is a senior full-time position within the EI secretariat management structure. A salary and conditions package, commensurate with the status of the post, will be negotiated with the selected candidate. The person appointed will be based in Brussels, Belgium home to the ETUCE office.
