Training school heads and teachers and empowering them to make changes in classrooms, schools and communities to address barriers to girls' education

Goals

-To enhance knowledge and skills of teachers and school heads in child-friendly environments, gender-sensitive child centered teaching methods, and non-violent classroom management practices -To mobilise parents and communities in support of education of girls -To reduce the occurrences of school related gender based violence in Ugandan public schools

Results

Quantitative results not available. Reports of more girls regularly attending school; more girls completing primary; protocols in places for girls who are pregnant to return to school after giving birth; a better informed school community. UNATU would have local reports at district level.
