Réaliser l’Objectif de développement durable 4

En 2015, tous les pays se sont engagés à réaliser 17 Objectifs de développement durable d’ici 2030. L’Internationale de l’Éducation a joué un rôle essentiel dans la définition d'un objectif spécifique pour l’éducation – l’Objectif de développement durable 4 (ODD 4): Assurer une éducation inclusive, équitable et de qualité et promouvoir des possibilités d’apprentissage tout au long de la vie pour tou·te·s. L’ODD4 reconnaît de manière significative qu’une éducation de qualité ne peut être dispensée que par des enseignant·e·s qualifié·e·s.

Toutefois, au rythme actuel, les gouvernements ne parviendront jamais à réaliser l’ODD 4. La pandémie de COVID-19 engendre des défis supplémentaires et risque de compromettre des années de progrès en matière d'éducation. Une action urgente et décisive est impérative.

En collaboration avec nos organisations membres du monde entier, nous nous efforçons de faire en sorte que les gouvernements tiennent leur promesse de réaliser l’ODD 4 et toutes ses cibles d’ici 2030.

  • Nous suivons les progrès réalisés et demandons aux gouvernements de rendre des comptes.
  • Nous plaidons pour l’augmentation du financement national de l’enseignement public par le biais d’une fiscalité équitable et progressive et de l’aide internationale.
  • Nous nous opposons aux intérêts des entreprises qui traitent l’éducation comme un marché et non comme un bien public accessible à tou·te·s.
  • Nous promouvons une éducation de qualité, exempte de violence, qui développe « l’enfant dans sa globalité » et favorise la tolérance, la compréhension, la démocratie, le respect des droits humains et la citoyenneté active pour un développement durable.
  • Nous encourageons la réalisation de l’« objectif relatif aux enseignants » (Objectif 4.c), en rappelant le droit de chaque élève à recevoir un enseignement dispensé par un·e enseignant·e formé·e et qualifié·e.
