Urgent Action Appeal for Lebanese teachers

Innocent civilians in Lebanon, including many teachers and their families, are severely affected by the current hostilities and they are appealing for your solidarity assistance!

EI launched an Urgent Action Appeal on 26 July at the request of both member organisations in Lebanon, the "Teachers' Syndicate of Lebanon" (TSL) and the "Ligue des Professeurs de l’Enseignement Secondaire Public du Liban" (LPESPL) for contributions to the EI Solidarity Fund.

EI itself has made available an initial amount of 20 000 euros from the EI Solidarity Fund, which has been forwarded to both EI affiliates in Lebanon, to provide immediate humanitarian support to teachers and their families. International humanitarian aid organisations have also been contacted in order to link them up with the TSL and LPESPL.

EI invites all member organisations and partners to show their solidarity with Lebanese teachers by contributing to the Solidarity Fund. Amounts can be transferred to:

EI has also issued a statement on 25 July calling for an immediate halt to the current hostilities.
