Training for young and potential trade unionists in matters of trade unionism and gender education.
The training workshop will span four days, with two day focused on trade union education and two days devoted to education on gender matters, to be conducted by the status of Women Committee of the CUT.
Objetivos
The implementation of education activities enables trade unions to assist members to meaningfully engage in union activities and for some, to develop into effective trade union leaders. Participants learn about trade union principles, work, and strategies, and how to represent their co-workers. Strategies for recruiting and mobilizing members will also be taught, along with the importance of taking part in the actions of the Union. Furthermore, in focusing on leadership development, it is important to ensure that young workers are given the necessary capacity to lead at various levels within the trade union structures. This will sustain the quality of trade union leadership over time and will also ensure that young workers’ issues are brought to the fore.
The gender aspect of the workshop will help participants to understand the role gender plays in various contexts and support skills necessary for advancing gender equality in the workplace as well as in their daily lives.
Actividades

Units will be provided information for the workshop for advertising and selection of participants.
The workshop will be held January 26th to 29th, 2026, and focus on both trade unionism and gender topics.
Follow-up from the activity will take place the following January 2027.
Resultados
Participants will be better equipped with the knowledge and skills to become effective teacher trade union leaders and will be able to effectively incorporate the gender dimension into the Union’s work, especially in terms of advocacy.
The knowledge, skills, and insights gained can help the Unions better champion improvements in working conditions, particularly those of women who form the vast majority of the teaching population. It will also help with greater advocacy on the issues facing young (women) teachers.
Teachers’ working conditions are students’ learning conditions. Improvements in the working conditions of teachers will ultimately benefit students.
Better working/learning conditions for teachers and students will contribute to a more effective education system.
